'6 o’clock My Hometown' legend reporter Kim Jong-ha welcomes daughter-in-law… son to marry on December 5

Comedian Kim Jong-ha, who became known for his role as a reporter on KBS 1TV's '6 o’clock My Hometown,' is celebrating the joyous occasion of his son’s wedding.

According to StarNews investigation on the 6th, Kim Jong-ha’s son is scheduled to hold his wedding ceremony at a wedding hall in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, on the morning of December 5. It is known that Kim has been sharing the news of his son’s wedding with close acquaintances, celebrating the family milestone together.

Born in 1964, Kim Jong-ha graduated from the Department of Theater at Seoul Arts University and debuted in the entertainment industry as a third-generation contestant on MBC's 'Comedian Contest' in 1989. He subsequently gained recognition in broadcasting through his activities as a comedian, particularly forming a long-standing connection with viewers through '6 o’clock My Hometown.'

On '6 o’clock My Hometown,' Kim spent a full 19 years visiting traditional markets across the country every week, communicating with merchants and introducing local food and attractions. With his approachable and warm conversational style, he conveyed the charm of traditional markets, earning the nickname 'Guardian of Traditional Markets' and receiving consistent love from viewers.

He also shared his unique experiences gained through broadcasting in book form. In 2024, Kim published the book 'If You Change, You Live,' which documented his experience appearing on '6 o’clock My Hometown' and his life up to that point.
