BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) has showcased overwhelming popularity in China with the successful launch of pop-up stores.

According to YG Entertainment on the 21st, starting with Shanghai on the 2nd, followed by Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Chengdu on the 3rd, and Beijing on the 5th, the group opened the “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR POP-UP STORE” across large shopping malls in bustling downtown districts of five major Chinese cities.

The Shanghai pop-up, held at Joy City (静安大悦城, Jing’an Joy City), occupies about 500㎡ on the first floor, making it the largest among the five cities. Despite implementing a reservation system that limited entry to 1,500 visitors per day in anticipation of heavy weekend traffic, additional walk-ins still crowded the venue, reflecting explosive interest. Even on weekdays, a diverse range of fans—including students and people of all ages—have been visiting.

t the Wuhan and Chengdu pop-ups, where no reservations were required, waiting lines stretched beyond the department store interiors and out into the streets.

The stores feature concert merchandise, official goods, and albums, with items such as BLACKPINK’s light sticks, character keyrings, handheld fans, cameras, tote bags, hats, and T-shirts selling out almost immediately upon opening. Additional restocks and pre-orders are currently underway. Fans also enjoyed attractions such as photo zones inspired by the ongoing world tour trailer and a giant message wall where they could leave handwritten notes to the members, which have been met with enthusiastic responses. Each city’s pop-up store will run until the 31st.

A special event was also held on August 8 to mark BLACKPINK’s 9th debut anniversary. The rooftop Ferris wheel at Shanghai’s Joy City lit up its LED display with BLACKPINK’s logo and the group’s signature pink color, illuminating the night sky and delighting fans.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment continues to expand its artists’ presence in China, including BLACKPINK and TREASURE, by increasing opportunities for local fan engagement. At the end of this month, BABYMONSTER will also launch a pop-up store in China, further showcasing a variety of special events.
