BTS’s Jungkook has once again proven his immense global popularity as his track has reached a historic milestone on Spotify.

According to the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify, Jungkook’s solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)”, released in July 2023, surpassed 2.5 billion cumulative streams (as of the August 18 chart). It is the first song by a Korean artist ever to achieve this record. Along with this, Jungkook’s solo tracks combined have now exceeded 9.4 billion total streams, marking the highest streaming figure for any K-pop solo artist. His solo album “GOLDEN”, released in November 2023, is also on the verge of surpassing 6 billion streams, once again underscoring his worldwide popularity.

Jungkook’s influence has also been demonstrated through various chart achievements and awards. Upon release, “Seven (feat. Latto)” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. The song also set a record as the fastest track in Spotify history to reach 1 billion streams, achieving the milestone in just 108 days.

In addition, Billboard selected “Seven (feat. Latto)” as the most popular track across more than 200 countries/regions outside the U.S. in its 2024 International Power Players list. The song continues its remarkable longevity, charting for 108 weeks on the Global 200 and 109 weeks on the Global Excl. U.S., maintaining strong popularity more than two years after release. Jungkook also swept trophies at major international award shows, including the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards, 2023 Billboard Music Awards, and the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, cementing his status as a true global pop star.

“Seven (feat. Latto)” combines an addictive melody with warm acoustic guitar and the rhythms of UK Garage (a genre of electronic music that originated in early 1990s Britain). It’s an impassioned serenade in which the singer expresses the desire to be with a loved one all seven days of the week.
