Comedian Lee Sang-min delivered 250 straws to the office of Governor Choo Mi-ae of Gyeonggi Province.

On the 17th, Lee posted a photo and a caption on his personal account stating, "I am delivering straws to Governor Choo."

The revealed photo showed an order for five packs of 50 straws each, totaling 250. The delivery address was Choo's office.

Lee explained the reason for ordering the straws, saying, "There is a provincial governor who says 'fire services are a fiscal straw.' Despite being heavily criticized by public opinion for asking 'how can she say such a thing,' she has never apologized. Instead, her party is stepping in to apologize. A reality more tragic and absurd than comedy."

The following day, Lee stated through his Instagram story, "Upon hearing news of Governor Choo Mi-ae's apology, I hurriedly considered canceling the delivery, but as it is difficult to view it as a sincere apology, I am continuing to monitor the delivery status."

Subsequently, he posted the text "Delivery completed" along with a screenshot showing that the straw delivery had been completed.

Previously, on the 13th, Governor Choo sparked controversy during the National Assembly's Ministry of the Interior and Safety national audit targeting Gyeonggi Province, where she mentioned budgets related to firefighters, stating, "Fire services seem like the biggest headache-inducing fiscal straw."

As the controversy grew, Governor Choo apologized, saying, "If it was conveyed differently from my intention, I express deep regret and offer a heartfelt apology." She explained that it was "a slip of the tongue while discussing structural fiscal issues" and stated, "I had absolutely no intention of belittling firefighters."
