BTS Jin wrote a new history in K-Pop by rising to the top of Shazam's 'Global Chart', the world's largest music search platform.
Jin took first place on the 'Shazam Global Week's Top 10 Artists' chart released on June 17th. This is the first record for a K-pop solo artist.
Jin stayed on the chart for 5 weeks, recording 2nd for 3 weeks in a row after charting at 8th on May 20th. With this, Jin became the first, longest and highest K-pop solo artist on the chart in Shazam's histyory.
Following Jin at No. 1, Kate Bush (@KateBushMusic) came in at No. 2 and Harry Styles (@Harry_Styles) at No. 3.
The World Music Awards also announced the news through their official Twitter account, congratulating them on "Shazam K-Pop Soloist's first 'Top 10 Artist'.
BTS also took first place in the 'Shazam Global Weekly TOP10', making Jin the only K-pop artist to top the chart as a group and solo artist.
