Global superstar group BTS is already setting records even before the release of their fifth full-length album, ARIRANG.

According to global audio and music streaming platform Spotify on the 21st (local time), ARIRANG ranked No. 1 on the Countdown Charts Global. This chart measures the most pre-saved albums and singles worldwide ahead of release, serving as a key indicator of global fan anticipation.

ARIRANG got off to a rapid start, surpassing 1 million pre-saves within just two days of opening pre-saves on Spotify on the 16th. By the fourth day, the number exceeded 2 million, maintaining a strong upward trajectory. The album also dominated Spotify’s Top 10 Countdowns, holding the No. 1 position consecutively from days two through six. BTS demonstrated overwhelming global influence, outperforming major artists preparing comebacks such as Bruno Mars and Charli XCX.

The album with the highest number of pre-saves in Spotify history is Taylor Swift’s 12th full-length album, The Life of a Showgirl, released on October 3 last year, which recorded approximately 6 million pre-saves. With nearly two months remaining until release, attention is focused on whether BTS will break this historic record.

Amid explosive global interest, ARIRANG is scheduled for release on March 20. Anticipation is growing for the new records, milestones, and lasting legacy BTS will create upon its release. The album features 14 tracks and explores universal emotions such as identity, longing, and deep love, aiming to resonate with listeners around the world.

Following the album’s release, BTS will kick off a large-scale world tour starting on April 9 at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium.
