From “V Shoutout” to Billboard Hot 100… The Hot Comeback Power of Brown Eyed Soul [Star Issue]
Brown Eyed Soul (Jung Yup, Naul, Young Jun) made their return after six years, with Naul playfully showcasing his presence through a witty post.
On the 26th, Naul shared an image with the caption, “Brown Eyed Soul Soul Tricycle For Week Ending December 32, 2025.” The cut featured a mock Billboard Hot 100 chart with Brown Eyed Soul’s comeback title track Soul Tricycle at No. 1, immediately catching attention.
It turned out to be a chart filled with Naul’s playful “wishful thinking.” The date was listed as December 32, 2025, and names like Janet Jackson, Brian McKnight, and Whitney Houston were also seen on the chart.
Earlier, on the 18th, BTS’s V held a Weverse Live broadcast where he recommended several Brown Eyed Soul songs to fans. V said, “This might be TMI… I wasn’t asked to do this, I don’t have any personal connections — it’s purely the fan spirit I’ve carried for a long time, and I just wanted to share it now. I’m a fan of Brown Eyed Soul.”
He continued, “I grew up happily listening to their songs, so when I heard they were releasing new music… A lot of people from the ’90s love Brown Eyed Soul, and I’m one of them. I started this live so ARMYs could give their songs a listen.”
V had previously shown his fandom 11 years ago, on October 22, 2014, when he sang Is It The Wind in his log, proving he’s been a longtime fanboy. After V openly expressed his admiration, both domestic and international fans turned their attention to Brown Eyed Soul, with the group even ranking No. 1 on Melon’s trending search terms.
During the broadcast, V introduced songs such as Promise You, Is It The Wind, My Story, Did We Really Love, Love Ballad, Lord in the Storm, and If It’s the Same, passionately reacting and singing along with fans.
