SEVENTEEN’s The8 surprises fans with self-composed track “Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)”



SEVENTEEN member The8 has released his self-written and composed song “Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)”.

According to his agency Pledis Entertainment on the 29th, The8 dropped the new track at 11 a.m. that day via SODA MUSIC, a music platform under China’s Douyin. Starting tomorrow (30th), the song will also be available on major domestic and global music platforms, including Melon, Genie, Spotify, and YouTube. “Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)” captures the perspective of someone reminiscing about the memories of being in love. Inspired by the night sky and vanishing shooting stars, The8 participated in both the songwriting and composition. Blending electronic music and R&B elements with emotional vocals, the track evokes a wistful and dreamy atmosphere. Rapper GALI, who gained recognition by placing third on iQIYI’s hip-hop competition program “Rap of China 2020 (新说唱2020)”, features on the track.



The8 collaborated with Douyin, China’s largest short-form video platform, and UK-based global fashion and culture magazine Wonderland to bring “Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)” to life. Known not only for his singing and dancing but also for his talents in art and fashion, The8 is expected to showcase his all-around artistry that merges music and visuals through this release.

The cover image unveiled alongside the song depicts The8 surrounded by starlight, exuding a fantastical aura. The striking contrast of light and shadow adds an artistic and mysterious mood. A concept short in the form of a music film will also be released at a later date.
