BTS’s Jimin’s “Who” Surpasses 1.9 Billion Streams on Spotify – Fastest by an Asian Artist
BTS’s Jimin has reached yet another milestone on Spotify, further solidifying his successful solo career.
The title track “Who” from Jimin’s second solo album MUSE has surpassed 1.9 billion streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify, as of the August 10 chart — just 388 days after its release.
This marks the fastest achievement of this milestone for a song by a male Asian artist. When considering all songs regardless of artist, “Who” ranks as the seventh fastest track in history to reach 1.9 billion streams.
Achieving this feat as a pure solo track — without collaborations with internationally famous artists, without promotional campaigns, and with no official activities — “Who” has sustained long-term popularity for over a year. On August 10, it ranked 25th on Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart, maintaining a remarkable 388 consecutive days on the chart.
Additionally, “Who” has surpassed 122 million views on its official music video on YouTube as of August 12, and has been searched over 1.3 million times on the global music discovery platform Shazam, proving its widespread appeal across multiple platforms.
Meanwhile, Jimin remains the first and only Korean solo artist to have two songs exceed 1.3 billion streams on Spotify (“Who” – 1.9 billion & “Like Crazy” – 1.38 billion). In recognition, Spotify presented him with two disc-shaped plaques to commemorate each song surpassing the 1 billion stream milestone.
