BTS has received a Presidential Commendation at the 5th Republic of Korea Good Donation Awards.



On the 8th, at the “5th Republic of Korea Good Donation Awards,” hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by the Korea Association of Charity Organizations, BTS became the first Korean artist to be awarded the Presidential Commendation. Established in 2021, the ceremony honors individuals and groups who bring hope and encouragement to society through acts of sharing and philanthropy, while promoting exemplary cases of good deeds and fostering a mature culture of giving.



BTS shared their thoughts, stating, “We feel deeply rewarded to know that the ‘LOVE MYSELF’ campaign has had a positive impact on our society. We believe this award is not simply for us, but a message of encouragement and support to everyone who resonated with the message of ‘loving yourself and loving the world’ conveyed through the campaign. We especially dedicate this honor to ARMY, who have been with us in creating this campaign. We will continue striving to contribute to warm and healthy change in the future.”



In 2017, BTS became the first K-pop artist to form an official partnership with UNICEF Korea, launching the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign. Through this initiative, they worked to promote violence prevention and psychological support for children and adolescents across 155 countries and regions. They also expanded mental health programs to over 100 million individuals, demonstrating global philanthropic leadership. The group and their label BIGHIT MUSIC have become UNICEF’s largest private partner in global child protection, raising approximately 9.2 billion won together with fans—an impressive amount accounting for about 15 percent of the total protection fund.



Beyond their work with UNICEF, BTS has continued to drive positive change both domestically and internationally through ongoing donations and their influential engagement with social issues.
